How to Try Frames On Before You Buy With The Glasses Frames & Lenses Virtual Mirror

Today’s article is going to walk you through, step-by-step, in how to use the Glasses Frames & Lenses Virtual Mirror, allowing you to try frames on before you buy.

With our Virtual Mirror you can literally ‘try on’ a pair of glasses direct from the comfort of your own home. You see, it can be a major frustration to go through the process of ordering your frames online only to discover that the ones you select do not suit you or your face shape.

With our Virtual Mirror you will be able to choose from a range of stock photos, selecting a face shape that matches your own, to see how your selected frames look on someone actually wearing them.

If you would prefer to see exactly how ‘you’ look wearing your selected frames then we also have that covered; simply upload your very own photograph and select the frames that suit you best.

To find the Virtual Mirror visit the Glasses Frames and Lenses homepage and you will find the above image towards the bottom right of the screen.

Click on the link that says ‘Try the Virtual Mirror now’ (as seen on the image above) to be taken to the following screen.

For our demonstration I’m going to select a stock image using the ‘previous’ and ‘next’ buttons (2) to scroll through the images available. If you would prefer to use your own image you can click on the ‘upload photo’ or ‘use webcam’ buttons (1) to take a snapshot of your face.

Upload Photo or Choose Stock Image in the Virtaul Mirror

After selecting the image that most closely resembles your face shape, click on it and it will instantly load a larger image into the virtual mirror.

Now comes the fun part, choose the frames that you would like to try to see how they look with you (or someone with a similar face shape as you) wearing them.

You can quickly navigate through our large selection of frames using the handy drop-down menus you see below. These allow you to refine your search by frame types, frame colours, gender and price.

Search for Frames by Gender, Price or Colours

For this example I have selected the following, ‘full rim’, ‘ladies’, ‘black’ frames ‘up to £30′. Click on the ’search’ button below the glasses to be presented with your search results.

Search for Full Rim, Colour Black, Frames

To scroll through the selection of frames click-on the scroll bar (1) to the right of the frames and drag-it in your desired direction (up or down). You can also click on the small arrows (2) directly above and below the scroll bar.

Simply click on the frames you want to try and they will appear on your photo (or stock image).

You will notice some colour swatches next to your image. The colour swatches at the top (1) allow you to choose from the available colours of frames for the frames that you selected. The colour swatches at the bottom (2) allow you to choose from the available colour of lenses.

Select A Colour For Your Frames and Colour of Your Lenses

After you have selected all of your preferences you can take a snapshot and save the image. This feature allows you to compare your image (with your selected frames) directly against the other frames that you are interested in. To do this simply click on the ’snapshot’ button next to your image.

Your image will now be saved to the bottom of the screen inside the Virtual Mirror allowing you to now select from other frames that you are interested in.

Compare Your Chosen Frames Side-by-Side

Saving a snapshot of your frames to compare against other frames is an optional step. If you know exactly what you are looking for and are happy with how you look, then you can jump straight to the ‘choose options and buy’ section.

The ‘choose options and buy’ button is located next to the ’snapshot’ button as shown in the screenshot below.

Clicking this will take you to your selected frames dedicated page where you will be able to customise your purchase, tailoring it exactly to your individual needs.

That’s it! You can now try on our large range of frames without worrying about getting them home only to discover they aren’t the right look for you.

We’ve made our Virtual Mirror as easy to use as possible, so-much-so, I’m certain you’ll enjoy playing around with the many available options. Please note that more recently added frames to our collection are not yet able to be viewed on the virtual mirror; please bear with us and they will be available soon.

Here’s the link so you can start using the Virtual Mirrorright now. Alternatively we do also have a ‘Try at Home’ service allowing you to try up tp 4 pairs of frames for 7 days at home for only £4.95. Simply click ‘Try at home’ at the checkout.

Positive Feedback for Glasses Frames and Lenses from econsultancy blog post

As an online retailer it is always helpful to understand what we are doing well and what we can improve upon. We often receive positive feedback from our customers, but it is also lovely for our efforts to be acknowledged via other forums, so we were delighted to receive positive feedback from econsultancy in their blog post (below) on our efforts to help our customers in understanding and entering their prescriptions – “This is genuis. No, correction, this is utter genius”, said Matthew Curry!
